Project Coordinator for Starting Leisure Cafes Vacancy-Job Ref: EJDKSTC/2305/2025818

Copenhagen (Denmark)

In Save the Children’s team for Voluntary Communities, we are looking for a project coordinator for a completely new initiative – namely Save the Children’s Leisure Cafés, which will create the framework for volunteer-run guidance programs that will support children and young people in vulnerable positions into leisure and association life.

About Volunteer Communities In Save the Children, approximately 2000 volunteers fight to create good frameworks for fun, safe and inclusive communities for children and families in vulnerable positions. Our volunteers are crucial to the difference that families and children experience. As the secretariat, our task is to ensure that volunteers have the necessary frameworks and tools to succeed in their volunteer work.

About the initiative The aim of the initiative is to help children and young people in the target group get started with leisure activities and support them in gaining a lasting connection to club life. This is done through volunteer-based guidance courses, where volunteers support families in the process. A guidance course is adapted to the needs of the individual family and can last a shorter or longer period of time. In this way, leisure guidance will help families break down the barriers that the family may encounter both before and during the child’s participation in leisure activities and in connection with the child changing leisure interests and starting a new club.

The guidance courses take place in leisure cafés located at, for example, schools, leisure educational facilities (SFO/club and leisure centre) and in residential areas close to the target group’s homes. YOU WANT: The project coordinator must help ensure coordination and planning of the initiative together with one other project coordinator and a project manager for the initiative. There will be a greater amount of development tasks in the initial project phase, and thereafter volunteer support, operation of the effort and dissemination will be important success criteria for the effort and thus characterize the tasks.

Tasks for the project coordinator:

Recruitment and onboarding of volunteers, as well as development of supporting materials
Development of materials about the effort for target groups and partners
Support the project manager in various tasks related to the development and dissemination of the effort
Develop, plan and conduct competency development courses for volunteers
Ongoing support and collaboration with volunteers
Collaboration with Save the Children’s local associations and local partners
The project coordinator’s daily routine is based in Copenhagen.

Meeting activity outside office hours and transportation to the whole country should be expected. YOUR PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL PROFILE: You must have an interest in volunteering, and we hope that you have an interest in association life. In addition, we see that you
